This is a portion of an e-mail I received this week from Tom Kinealy, Division Recording Secretary:

"Regarding the Recording Secretary position: I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for you electing me to the position of Recording Secretary for Division 1. Unfortunately, I have taken a temporary job in Washington, DC and will not be able to attend meeting for the foreseeable future. As a result, you may wish to hold another election, or appoint someone to the post pending my return. My intention is to return to St. Louis at the earliest possible time, but there is no definite time line at this point."

Since there is no definite timetable or expectation as to when Tom shall return to the St. Louis area, and since the division desperately needs a recording secretary to always be present to take the minutes of the meetings, I am hereby calling for a special election to be held at the March 11, 2005 division meeting to fill the vacancy of recording secretary.

Nominations will be held first then a final vote taken for filling of the vacancy.

If and when Tom Kinealy does return to the St. Louis area, and to the division, we would sincerely welcome Tom to run once again for recording secretary or any one of the other division officers positions.
