Division #1 Special Announcements:
1. I am scheduling a 45 minute (maximum) discussion period on the subject of a change of meeting place for the August 11 meeting. I will be appointing a committee to give me suggestions and advice on this subject and effectively resolve this matter.
2. REMINDER: The July 14th AND August 11 meetings of St. Louis AOH Division #1 will be held in the meeting room of “O’Malley’s Irish Pub, 1099 Cherokee Street (between Cherokee and Lemp St.) and will begin at 8:15 PM sharp
3. I have received a recent update on Dennis Vineyard via E-Mail:
Tue, 20 Jun 2006 21:57:42 EDT (E-MAIL MESSAGE OPENED 9:30 PM)
“Dennis has moved to St. John’s skilled facility today to receive more therapy. He was not ready for the rehab unit at this point but that is the ultimate goal. He passed a swallow test which tells the therapist he has a swallow reflex. He has said a few words like “ow” “don’t touch” “yeah”.
He continues to improve slowly. Keep praying for him.
I wanted to add a note:
Thanks for the monetary gift from the Hibernians. I have used it wisely. Please place in the news letter my thanks to all the members. I know Denny is very grateful not only for the gift but having good friends like all of you.”
4. E-mail received Wednesday, June 21st:
Hi Jim, A favor to ask:
I believe in the power of numbers, not to mention the strength good people can bring to a cause. Would you please keep our little one in your prayers and ask our Brother Hibernians to do the same?
Katherine Elizabeth Rohde was born at 2:11am today, about 4 months ahead of schedule. Weight only 2 lbs. She’ll be in St. John’s Neonatal ICU for awhile, God willing. A heck of a way to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary (on the 12th) but we are so thrilled to welcome her into the world, even if God’s plan for this one is a little ahead of nature’s usual plan.
Thanks Jim,
Paul & Linda Rohde
Cead Mile Failte’ (A Hundred Thousand Welcomes) to our two newest members:
Thomas Ahern from Hillsboro and Ryan F. Walsh from Houston, Texas (there is no AOH DIVISION in Houston, and the closest division is in San Antonio, some 300 miles away). Both were brought in at the June meeting. The division continues to grow and grow. The ONLY way we can lead the St. Louis area and perform our many activities is by growth. Therefore, I remind ALL members that recruiting is a top priority for this division.
St. Louis Area A.O.H. Color Guard:
The St. Louis Area A.O.H. Color Guard is in a constant search for new members to join their ranks. Your complete uniform is furnished by the Color Guard team fund. IF you are interested, please contact Terry Madden at 314/ 631-1630 or at his e-mail address: tmadden@teamsterslocal682.com The team now under the leadership Of Terry Madden will be changing the style of uniforms after some 5 years to include kilts and a “Glengarry”(?), & spats in order to look more “Irish”. This does make for a real good looking uniform—Congratulations team!
