DIVISION 1 ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.   Welcome to the February edition of the AOH President's Podium.  Let me begin by saying welcome to our newest Division 1 member, Kurt Dolan.  We look forward to his support and involvement within the organization.  Also, it was a tremendous pleasure to see so many members in attendance at the February Meeting.  We hope to see even more at the next.

2.   As we rapidly approach March, so many activates are planned and fast approaching.  See also Calendar of Events (click here):

• Irish Emerald Ball - March 3, 2007. Tickets are still available. For a great evening of fun and comradery at a great price, contact Patrick Maloney for ticket and add book information. 

• Also fast approaching in March is the AOH St Louis City/County Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year Awards Ceremony.  The event will be on March 8, 2007 at Goff-Moll American Legion Post 101.  This year’s honorees are firefighters Dennis J Murray and Michael Pollihan and police officers Thomas Moran and Mike Jones.  More information regarding this event will be posted in the March newsletter.  This event, which was started by AOH member James Dailey Wahl, is to honor the memory of the police and firefighters of 9-11 whom so valiantly, gave their lives so that others would live.  For a great evening of fun, Irish music, Irish Dance performance, great food and drink and the comradery of the Irish Community, stop on by. Suggested donation at the door is $15.00 per person.

3.   St Patrick's Day Parade. The parade is approaching fast and the various committees are diligently working to make this years Parade as enjoyable as any we have had.  Adopt-A-Barricade vacancies still available - reserve your perfect view of the Parade today.

The Parade Committee is in dire need of volunteers to serve as Parade Marshalls prior to, and during the parade, from start to finish.  If you, or anyone you know of, who would be willing to assist us in this most important facet of the parade, please contact Hibernian Tim Kinealy (click here).

SPECIAL NOTE:  THE PARADE PACKET AND MANDATORY SAFETY MEETING IS THURSDAY FEBRUARY 22, 2007 @ 7:00 PM AT GOFF - MOLL AMERICAN LEGION POST 101.

ANYONE WHO HAS APPLIED TO AND BEEN ACCEPTED IN THE PARADE MUST ATTEND THIS MANDATORY SAFETY MEETING OR THEY WILL FORFIT THIER SPOT IN THE PARADE. NO EXCEPTIONS.

4.   Tuesday, April 10, 2007, the St. Louis AOH City/County Board will have a meeting/convention. The meeting will be held at:

O'Malley's Irish Pub

1900 Cherokee St.

Meeting starts at 7:30 PM and is open to all AOH members who are current in their division dues and who have had their per capita tax paid to the AOH St Louis City/County Board.
