SPECIAL DIVISION ONE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.   Welcome to the monthly edition of the President’s Podium.  What a pleasure to see so many members in attendance at this months meeting. We are growing in membership size it seems each month. A tremendous testament to the AOH and our Division in particular. This months newsletter will be a bit shorter than last as we are getting ready for the Big Day.  Everything that needs to be done has been completed and the last remaining item is the weather.  As you may already know, the Parade has been placed on the Special Prayers list of the Pink Sisters.  I am confident that all prayers will answered and we will have a wonderful day of weather.  With over 105 entries in the parade and a total number of patrons of approximately 3,700 people either on the floats or walking, this years Parade will be one of our largest.

2.   Two events that took place this month that were a tremendous success and enjoyed by all were the Irish Emerald Ball on March 3, 2007 and the 6th Annual Police/Firefighter Award Ceremony on March 8, 2007. The Emerald Ball was packed to honor this year Honorees and a Thank You and Congratulations to Emerald Ball Chairman Patrick Maloney for doing just an outstanding job on this years event.  The Police/Firefighter Award Ceremony was well attended by our members and the public.  Thank you and Congratulations to James Dailey Wahl for putting together this most successful event.  It gets bigger every year.

3.   On Tuesday, April 10, 2007 the St. Louis AOH City/County Board will have a meeting/convention at:

O'Malley's Irish Pub,

1900 Cherokee St

Meeting starts at 7:30 PM and is open to all AOH members who are current in their division dues and who have had their per capita tax paid to the AOH St Louis City/County Board.

4.   Thanks to the generosity of Division 1 Member and Brother, Patrick McCarthy, the monthly newsletter in hard copy will be forthcoming.  Pat has stepped forward and offered to resurrect the newsletter at the request of many.  So in addition to this correspondence, check your mailboxes shortly for the newsletter.  Look for information in the next issue regarding AOH jackets, shirts and hats.
